الآراب: الأعضاء التي تشتد الحاجة إليها سميت آرابا لأن الأعضاء ضربان، ضرب أوجد لحاجة الإنسان إليه كيد ورجل وعين، وضرب للزينة كحاجب ولحية، ثم التي للحاجة ضربان: ضرب لا تشتد له حاجة وضرب تشتد له حتى لو ارتفع اختل البدن اختلالا عظيما وهي التي تسمى آرابا ومنه حديث "إذا سجد العبد سجد على سبعة آراب" .
