(وَنَى) الْوَاوُ وَالنُّونُ وَالْحَرْفُ الْمُعْتَلُّ. يَدُلُّ عَلَى ضَعْفٍ. يُقَالُ: وَنَى يَنِي وَنْيًا. وَالْوَانِي: الضَّعِيفُ. قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: {وَلَا تَنِيَا فِي ذِكْرِي} [طه: 42] . وَالْوَنَى: التَّعَبُ. يُقَالُ: أَوْنَيْتُهُ: أَتْعَبْتُهُ. وَنَاقَةٌ وَانِيَةٌ. وَلَا يَنِي يَفْعَلُ، كَمَا يُقَالُ لَا يَزَالُ. وَامْرَأَةٌ وَنَاةٌ، إِذَا كَانَ فِيهَا فُتُورٌ عِنْدَ الْقِيَامِ.
