و ل ج: (وَلَجَ) يَلِجُ بِالْكَسْرِ (وُلُوجًا) أَيْ دَخَلَ، وَ (أَوْلَجَهُ) غَيْرُهُ أَدْخَلَهُ. وَقَوْلُهُ - تَعَالَى -: {يُولِجُ اللَّيْلَ فِي النَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ النَّهَارَ فِي اللَّيْلِ} [الحج: 61] أَيْ يَزِيدُ مِنْ هَذَا فِي ذَلِكَ وَمِنْ ذَلِكَ فِي هَذَا. وَ (وَلِيجَةُ) الرَّجُلِ خَاصَّتُهُ وَبِطَانَتُهُ.
