وزَبَ الماءُ يَزِبُ وُزُوباً: سالَ، ومنه: المِيزابُ، أو هو فارِسِيُّ، ومعناه: بُلِ الماءَ، فَعَرَّبوهُ بالهَمْزِ، ولهذا جَمَعوهُ مآزيبَ. والوَزَّابُ، كَكَتَّانٍ: اللِّصُّ الحاذِقُ. وأوْزَبَ في الأرضِ: ذَهَبَ فيها.
