الوخوخة: حكايةُ بعض أصوات الطير.

ورجلٌ وَخْواخٌ: سَمينٌ كثير اللحمِ مُضطربه. وَقيل: هُوَ الجبان الضَّعِيف.

وتَمْر وَخْوَاخٌ: لَا حلاوة لَهُ وَلَا طعم.

وَقيل: مُسترخي اللِّحاء.

وكل مسترخٍ: وَخْواخ.
