وجل: الوَجَلُ: الخَوْفُ، وَجِلْتُ أوْجَلُ وَجَلاً؛ فهو وَجِلٌ وأوْجَلُ، يُقال: وَجِلْتَ تَاجَلُ وتَيْجَلُ وتَوْجَلُ. وأَجَلَني فَوَجلْتُه: أي غَالَبَني في الوَجَلِ فَغَلَبْتُه. ووَجُلَ فُلانٌ يَوْجُلُ وَجْلاً: إذا كَبِرَ. والوُجُوْلُ: الشُّيُوْخُ. والوَجِيْلُ: حُفْرَةٌ يِسْتَنْقِعُ فيها الماءُ، وهو المَأْجَلُ.
