(نَهَشَ) النُّونُ وَالْهَاءُ وَالشِّينُ أَصْلٌ صَحِيحٌ، وَمَعْنَاهُ مَعْنَى الَّذِي قَبْلَهُ. قَالَ ابْنُ دُرَيْدٍ: قَالَ الْأَصْمَعِيُّ النَّهْسُ وَالنَّهْشُ وَاحِدٌ، وَهُوَ أَخْذُ اللَّحْمِ بِالْفَمِ. وَخَالَفَهُ أَبُو زَيْدٍ فَقَالَ: النَّهْشُ: بِمُقَدَّمِ الْفَمِ.
