[مغث] مَغَثْتُ الدواء في الماء، إذا مَرَثْتَهُ. ويقال: مَغَثوا فلاناً، إذا ضربوه ضرباً غير مُبَرِّحٍ كأنهم تَلْتَلوهُ. ورجلٌ مَغِثٌ، أي مَرِسٌ مصارعٌ شديدُ العلاج. وقولهم: مَغَثوا عِرْضَ فلانِ، أي شانوه ومغصوه وقال : ممغوثة أعراضهم ممرطله * كما تلاث في الهناء الثمله وكَلأٌ مَغيث ومَمْغوثٌ، إذا أصابه المطر فصرعه.

(مَغَثَ) الْمِيمُ وَالْغَيْنُ وَالثَّاءُ أَصْلٌ صَحِيحٌ يَدُلُّ عَلَى مَرْسِ شَيْءٍ وَمَرْثِهِ. يَقُولُونَ: مَغَثْتُ الدَّوَاءَ فِي الْمَاءِ: مَرَثْتُهُ. وَمَغَثَ بَنُو فُلَانٍ فُلَانًا، إِذَا ضَرَبُوهُ ضَرْبًا لَيْسَ بِالشَّدِيدِ. وَرَجُلٌ مَغِثٌ: مُصَارِعٌ شَدِيدُ الْعِلَاجِ. وَمُغِثَتْ أَعْرَاضُهُمْ: مُضِغَتْ. قَالَ:

مَمْغُوثَةٌ أَعْرَاضُهُمْ مُمَرْطَلَهْ

وَكَلَأٌ مَمْغُوثٌ وَمَغِيثٌ: أَصَابَهُ الْمَطَرُ وَصَرَعَهُ، وَالْمِيمُ أَصْلِيَّةٌ.
