a. Softened, made supple.
مَظَّعَa. Greased; oiled.

تَمَظَّعَa. Licked, lapped up.
b. Lagged; dawdled.

(مَظَعَ) الْمِيمُ وَالظَّاءُ وَالْعَيْنُ فِيهِ مَعْنًى وَاحِدٌ. مَظَّعْتُ الْقَضِيبَ: تَرَكْتُ عَلَيْهِ لِحَاءَهُ حَتَّى يَتَشَرَّبَ مَاءَهُ، فَيَكُونَ أَصْلَبَ لَهُ. وَمَظَّعْتُ الْأَدِيمَ الدُّهْنَ: سَقَيْتُهُ. ثُمَّ يُتَوَسَّعُ فِيهِ فَيُقَالُ: مَظَّعَ الرَّجُلُ الْوَتَرَ تَمْظِيعًا: مَلَّسَهُ. وَيُقَالُ: إِنَّ الْمُظْعَةَ بَقِيَّةُ اللَّبَنِ. قَالَ الْخَلِيلُ: وَلَقَدْ تَمَظَّعَ مَا عِنْدَكَ، أَيْ تَلَحَّسَهُ كُلَّهُ. وَالْمُظْعَةُ: [بَقِيَّةٌ] مِنَ الْكَلَأِ. قَالَ: وَالرِّيحُ تَمْظَعُ الْخَشَبَ حَتَّى تَسْتَخْرِجَ نُدُوَّتَهُ. فَعَلَى هَذَا يُمْكِنُ أَنَّ أَصْلَ الْبَابِ النَّشَفُ وَالتَّشَرُّبُ. قَالَ الْخَلِيلُ: وَمَظَعَ الْوَتَرَ مَظْعًا.
