لين: اللِّيْنَةُ: كُلُّ لَوْنٍ من النَّخْلِ والتَّمْرِ، وجَمْعُها لِيَانٌ ولِيْنٌ، واللُّوْنَةُ: لُغَةٌ فيه؛ والجَميْعُ لُوْنٌ. والشَّيْءُ اللَّيِّنُ: لانَ يَلِيْنُ لِيْناً ولَيَاناً، ورَجُلٌ هَيِّنٌ لَيِّنٌ؛ وهَيْنٌ لَيْنٌ.
ونَزَلُوا بلَيَانِ الأرْضِ ولِيْنِها.
وفلانٌ ذو مَلْيَنَةٍ: لَيِّنُ الجانِبِ.
ولاَئِنَةٌ من العَيْشِ ولِيْنَةٌ: أي لَيَانٌ وقُرَّةٌ.
