لهف
اللَّهَفُ: التَّلَهُّفُ على شَيْءٍ فاتَ قد كُنْتَ أشْرَفْتَ عليه، وتَلَهَّفَ نَفْسَه وأُمِّه قال: والَهْفَاه والَهَفَ أُمّاه، وقيل: " والَهْفَتَاه ووالهَفْيِتْاه. ورُجُلٌ لَهْفَانُ: شَدِيدُ اللَّهَفِ، وامْرَأةٌ لَهْفى، ونِسْوَةٌ لَهَا فى ولِهَافٌ، ويقولون: امرأة لاهِفٌ ولاهِفَةٌ. وفي المَثَل: " إلى أُمِّه يَلْهَفُ اللَّهْفَانُ ".
والمَلْهُوْفُ: المَظْلُومُ يَسْتَغِيث. واللَّهُوْفُ: الطَّوِيلُ، والغَلِيظُ أيضاً. والإلْهَافُ: الحْرْصُ والشَّرَهُ. والْتَهَفَ: بمعنى الْتَهَبَ.
