ك م د: (الْكَمَدُ) الْحُزْنُ الْمَكْتُومُ وَبَابُهُ طَرِبَ فَهُوَ (كَمِدٌ) وَ (كَمِيدٌ) . وَ (الْكُمْدَةُ) تَغَيُّرُ اللَّوْنِ. وَ (تَكْمِيدُ) الْعُضْوِ تَسْخِينُهُ بِخِرَقٍ وَنَحْوِهَا وَكَذَا الْكِمَادُ بِالْكَسْرِ، وَفِي الْحَدِيثِ: «الْكِمَادُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنَ الْكَيِّ» .

(كَمَدَ)
(س) فِي حَدِيثِ عَائِشَةَ «كَانَتْ إحْدانا تَأخُذ الْمَاءَ بِيَدِها فتَصُبّ عَلَى رأسِها بإحْدى يَدْيها فتُكْمِدُ شِقَّها الأيْمَن» الكُمْدة: تَغَيُّر اللَّون. يُقَالُ: أَكْمَدَ الغَسَّالُ الثَّوبَ إِذَا لَمْ يُنَقِّه.
(س) وَفِي حَدِيثِ جُبَير بْنِ مُطْعِم «رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَادَ سَعيدَ بْنَ العاصِ فكَمَّدَه بخِرْقة» التَّكْمِيد: أَنْ تُسَخَّن خِرْقَة وتُوضَع على الِعُضْوِ الوَجِع، ويَتابَع ذَلِكَ مرَّةً بَعْدَ مَرَّةٍ ليَسْكُن، وَتِلْكَ الخِرْقَة: الكِمَادَةُ والكِماد.
وَمِنْهُ حَدِيثُ عَائِشَةَ «الكِمَادُ مكانُ الكَيِّ» أَيْ أَنَّهُ يُبْدَل مِنْهُ ويَسُدُّ مَسَدَّه. وَهُوَ أسْهَل وأهْوَن.
