ق ص ل: (الْقَصْلُ) الْقَطْعُ وَبَابُهُ ضَرَبَ وَمِنْهُ سُمِّي (الْقَصِيلُ) . وَ (قَصَلَ) الدَّابَّةَ عَلَفَهَا (قَصِيلًا) وَبَابُهُ أَيْضًا ضَرَبَ. وَ (الْقَصَلُ) بِفَتْحَتَيْنِ فِي الطَّعَامِ مِثْلُ الزُّوَانِ. وَ (الْقُصَالَةُ) بِالضَّمِّ مَا يُعْزَلُ مِنَ الْبُرِّ إِذَا نُقِّيَ ثُمَّ يُدَاسُ الثَّانِيَةَ.

(قَصَلَ) الْقَافُ وَالصَّادُ وَاللَّامُ أَصْلٌ صَحِيحٌ وَاحِدٌ يَدُلُّ عَلَى قَطْعِ الشَّيْءِ. فَالْقَصْلُ: الْقَطْعُ. يُقَالُ قَصَلَهُ، إِذَا قَطَعَهُ. وَالْقَصِيلُ مَعْرُوفٌ، وَسُمِّيَ بِذَلِكَ لِسُرْعَةِ اقْتِصَالِهِ، لِأَنَّهُ رَخْصٌ. وَسَيْفٌ مِقْصَلٌ: قَطَّاعٌ، وَكَذَلِكَ الْقَصَّالُ. وَلِسَانٌ مِقْصَلٌ عَلَى التَّشْبِيهِ. وَالْقِصْلُ: الرَّجْلُ الضَّعِيفُ، لِأَنَّهُ مُنْقَطِعٌ. فَأَمَّا الْقُصَالَةُ فَمَا يُعْزَلُ مِنَ الْبُرِّ لِيُدَاسَ ثَانِيَةً، فَإِنْ كَانَ صَحِيحًا فَقِيَاسُهُ قَرِيبٌ.
