[فور] فارَتْ القِدْرُ تَفورُ فَوْراً وفَوَراناً: جاشتْ. ومنه قولهم: ذهبْتُ في حاجة ثم أتيتُ فلاناً من فَوْري، أي قبل أن أسكن. وفارَ فائِرُهُ: لغة في ثار ثائره، إذا جاش غضبه. وفَوْرَةُ الحَرِّ: شدته وفَوْرَةُ العشاء: بعد العَتَمَةِ. والفُورُ بالضم: الظباء، لا واحد لها من لفظها. يقال: " لا أفعل كذا ما لأْلأَتِ الفورُ "، أي بَصْبَصَتْ بأذنابها. وفوارة الورك بالفتح والتشديد: ثقبها. وفوراة القدر، بالضم والتخفيف: ما يَفورُ من حَرِّها. والفِيارانِ: اللذان يكتنفان لسان الميزان.
