فسر الفَسْرُ: التَفْسِيْرُ؛ وهو بَيَانٌ؛ وتَفْصِيْلُ الكُتُبِ، يُقال: فَسَرْتُ القُرْآنَ وفَسَّرْتُه. وما تَفَسرْتُ عن هذا: أي ما سَالْمتُ عن تَفْسِيْرِه، وهي كقَوْلِكَ: ما اسْتَفْسَرْتُه.
