فحث

1 فَحَثَ عَنْهُ, (O, K,) aor. ـَ (TA,) inf. n. فَحْثٌ, (O, TA,) i. q. فَحَصَ [He searched, or sought, for, or after, it; inquired, or sought information, respecting it; searched into, inquired into, investigated, scrutinized, or examined, it; &c.]; (IDrd, O, K, TA;) namely, a thing; (IDrd, O;) or news, or a story; (TA;) as also ↓ افتحث. (O, K.) 8 إِفْتَحَثَ see what immediately precedes.

فَحِثٌ (S, O, K) and ↓ فَحِثَةٌ (TA) The [portion, or appertenance, called] حَفِث (S, O, K) of the stomach of a ruminant animal, also termed the قِبَّة, which has أَطْبَاق: (S, O: [see more in art. حفث:]) pl. of the former أَفْحَاثٌ. (O, TA.) b2: And one says, مَلَا أَفْحَاثَهُ meaning He filled his جَوْف [i. e. belly]. (IF, O.) فَحِثَةٌ: see the next preceding paragraph.
