(س) فِي حَدِيثِ خَبّاب «أَنَّهُ رَأى ابْنَه مَعَ قاصٍّ فأخَذ السَّوط وَقَالَ: أمَعَ العَمَالِقَة؟ هَذَا قَرْنٌ قَدْ طَلَعَ» العَمَالِقَة: الْجَبَابِرَةُ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا بِالشَّامِ مِنْ بَقِية قَوْمِ عادٍ، الواحِد:
عِمْلِيق وعِمْلَاق. وَيُقَالُ لِمَنْ يَخْدَع النَّاسَ ويَخْلُبهم: عِمْلَاق. والعَمْلَقَة: التَّعَمُّق فِي الْكَلَامِ، فشَبَّه القُصَّاص بِهِمْ، لِمَا فِي بعْضهم مِنَ الكِبْر والاسْتطالة عَلَى النَّاسِ، أَوْ بِالَّذِينِ يَخْدَعُونهم بِكلامِهم، وَهُوَ أشْبَه.
