عفش
. عَفَشَهُ، أَهْمَلَه الجَوْهَرِيُّ، وقالَ ابنُ دُرَيْدٍ: عَفَشَهُ يَعْفِشُهُ، مِنْ حَدِّ ضَرَب، عَفْشاً: جَمَعَهُ، زَعَمُوا.
وَفِي نَوَادِرِ الأَعْرَابِ: هؤلاءِ عُفَاشَةٌ من النّاسِ، بالضّمِّ، وهُمْ مَنْ لَا خَيْرَ فِيهِمْ، وكَذِلكَ نُخَاعَةٌ، ولُفَاظَةٌ. والأَعْفَشُ: الأَعْمَشُ. وسَمَّوْا عُفَاشَةَ، وقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَجُلاً بصَعِيدِ مِصْرَ يُسَمَّى بذلِكَ.
ويَقُولُونَ: هُوَ من العَفِش النَّفِش، لرُذالِ المَتَاعِ.
