طنثر: الطَّنْثرةُ: أَكْلُ الدسم حتى يَثْقُلَ عنه جسمُه، وقد تطَنْثَر.

: (طَنْثَرَ) ، أَهمله الجَوْهَرِيّ، وَقَالَ ابنُ دُرَيْد: هُوَ من قَوْلهم: تَضَنْثَرَ، يُقَال: طَنْثَرَ: (أَكَلَ الدّسَمَ حتَّى تَثَقَّلَ جِسْمُهُ، وَقد تَطَنْثَرَ) .
(وطَنْثَرَةُ: اسْمٌ) .
وَلَا تُزاد النُّون ثانِيَةً إِلاّ بثَبتٍ، واسْتُعْمِل أَيضاً قَلْبُه (نَطْثَرَ) ، كَمَا سيأْتي.
