ش ف ع: (الشَّفْعُ) ضِدُّ الْوِتْرِ. يُقَالُ: كَانَ وِتْرًا (فَشَفَعَهُ) مِنْ بَابِ قَطَعَ. وَ (الشُّفْعَةُ) فِي الدَّارِ وَالْأَرْضِ. وَ (الشَّفِيعُ) صَاحِبُ الشُّفْعَةِ وَصَاحِبُ الشَّفَاعَةِ. وَ (الشَّافِعُ) الشَّاةُ الَّتِي مَعَهَا وَلَدُهَا. وَفِي الْحَدِيثِ: «أَنَّهُ بَعَثَ مُصَدِّقًا فَأَتَاهُ بِشَاةٍ شَافِعٍ فَلَمْ يَأْخُذْهَا. فَقَالَ: ائْتِنِي بِمُعْتَاطٍ» وَ (اسْتَشْفَعَهُ) إِلَى فُلَانٍ سَأَلَهُ أَنْ يَشْفَعَ لَهُ إِلَيْهِ. وَ (تَشَفَّعَ) إِلَيْهِ فِي فُلَانٍ (فَشَفَّعَهُ) فِيهِ (تَشْفِيعًا) .
