[سهب] السَهْبُ: الفلاةُ، والفرسُ الواسعُ الجَرْي. وبئرٌ سَهْبَةٌ: بعيدةُ القَعْرِ، ومُسْهَبَةٌ أيضاً بفتح الهاء. وحفروا فأسهبوا: بلغوا الرملَ ولم يَخرج الماء. وأسهَبَ الفرسُ: اتّسع في الجري وسَبَقَ. وأَسْهَبَ الرجلُ، إذا أكثر من الكلام فهو مُسْهَبٌ بفتح الهاء، ولا يقال بكسرها، وهو نادر. وأُسْهِبَ الرَجُلُ على ما لم يُسَمَّ فاعله، إذا ذهب عَقلُه من لَدْغِ الحيةِ.
