طريق مسلوك، وما سلك طريق أقوم منه. وسلك الخيط في الإبرة. وسلك السنان في المطعون " ما سلككم في سقر " ونظم الدر في السلك وفي السلوك.

ومن المجاز: ذهب في مسلك خفيّ، وخذ في مسالك الحق. وهذا كلام دقيق السلك: خفي المسلك.

(سَلَكَ) السِّينُ وَاللَّامُ وَالْكَافُ أَصْلٌ يَدُلُّ عَلَى نُفُوذِ شَيْءٍ فِي شَيْءٍ. يُقَالُ سَلَكْتُ الطَّرِيقَ أَسْلُكُهُ. وَسَلَكْتُ الشَّيْءَ فِي الشَّيْءِ: أَنْفَذْتَهُ. وَالطَّعْنَةُ السُّلْكَى، إِذَا طَعَنَهُ تِلْقَاءَ وَجْهِهِ. وَالْمُسْلَكَةُ: طُرَّةٌ تُشَقُّ مِنْ نَاحِيَةِ الثَّوْبِ. وَإِنَّمَا سُمِّيَتْ بِذَلِكَ لِامْتِدَادِهَا. وَهِيَ كَالسِّكَكِ.

وَمِمَّا شَذَّ عَنِ الْبَابِ السُّلَكَةُ: الْأُنْثَى مِنْ وَلَدِ الْحَجَلِ، وَالذَّكَرُ سُلَكٌ، وَجَمْعُهُ سِلْكَانٌ. وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ.
