رحف: الأَزهري خاصّةً: ابن الأعرابي أَرْحَفَ الرجلُ إذا حَدَّدَ

سِكِّيناً أَو غيره. يقال: أرْحَفَ شَفْرَتَه حتى قَعَدَتْ كأَنها حَرْبَةٌ .

ومعنى قَعَدَتْ أَي صارَتْ. قال الأَزهري: كأَنَّ الحاء مُبدلة من الهاء

في أَرْحَفَ، والأَصلُ أَرْهَفَ. وسيف مُرْهَفٌ ورَهِيفٌ أَي مُحَدَّدٌ.
