فِي قَصِيدَةٍ مُدح بِهَا أصحابُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:
عَلِيٌّ لَهُ فَضْلانِ فَضْلُ قَرابَةٍ ... وفَضْلٌ بِنَصْل السَّيْفِ وَالسُّمُرِ الدُّكْل
الدُّكْل والدُّكْن وَاحِدٌ، يريدُ لَوْنَ الرِّمَاح.
