خَوِثَتِ المَرْأةُ تَخْوَث فهي خَوْثاءُ، وخَوَثُها: عِظَمُ بَطْنِها في اسْتِرْخاءٍ. وقيل: الخَوْثاء: الحَدَثَةُ الناعِمَةُ ذاتُ صُدْرَةٍ. والخَوَثُ: امْتِلاءُ الصَّدْر.
والأخْوَثُ: المَكِيْثُ. وهو الأَلُوْفُ.
