خبع: خبَع الصبيُّ خُبوعاً: انقطَع نفَسُه وفُحِم من البُكاء. وخَبَع في

المكان: دخل فيه. والخَبْعُ: لغة في الخَبْء. وخَبَعْت الشيء: لغة في

خَبَأْتُه. وأَما الخَبْعُ في الخَبْء فعلى الإِبدال لا يُعتدّ به من هذا

الباب، وعلى هذا قالوا: جارية خُبَعةٌ طُلَعةٌ أَي تَخْبأُ نفسها مرّة

وتُبْديها مرة. وامرأَة خُبَعة خُبَأَة بمعنى واحد؛ وخُبَعةٌ طُلَعةٌ

قُبَعةٌ.

والخُبَعةُ: المُزْعةُ من القُطْن؛ عن الهَجَريّ.
