جمهر: الجُمْهُوُر: الرَّمْل الكثيرُ المتراكم الواسع. والجُمْهُورُ: الجماعة من النّاس، وخيلٌ. مُجَمْهَرة، أي: مُجْتمعة.

(جَمْهَر) - ومن الرُّباعِيِّ في حَدِيثِ مُوسَى بنِ طَلْحَةَ: "وشَهِد دَفنَ رَجُل فَقال: جَمهِروا قَبرَه".
: أي اجمَعُوا عليه التُّرابَ جَمْعًا، ولا تُطَيِّنوه، ولا تُسَوُّوه.
قال الأَصمَعِيُّ: الجُمْهُور: الرَّملة المُجْتَمِعَة المُشْرِفة على ما حَوْلَها مَأخوذٌ من جَمَاهِير الرِّجال، وهي جَمَاعَاتُهم، الواحِدُ جُمْهور.

(جَمْهَرَ)
(هـ) فِي حَدِيثِ ابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ «قَالَ لمُعاوية: إِنَّا لَا نَدَع مَروَان يَرْمِي جَمَاهِير قرَيش بمَشَاقِصِه» أَيْ جَماعَاتِها، واحِدُها جُمْهُورٌ. وجَمْهَرْتُ الشَّيْءَ إِذَا جَمَعْتَه.
وَمِنْهُ حَدِيثُ النَّخَعِي «أَنَّهُ أُهدي له بُخْتَجٌ هُو الجُمْهُورِىّ» البُخْتَج: العَصِير المطْبُوخ الْحَلَالُ، وَقِيلَ لَهُ الجُمْهُورِى لِأَنَّ جُمْهُورَ النَّاس يَسْتَعْمِلونه: أَيْ أَكْثَرَهُمْ.
(س) وَفِي حَدِيثِ مُوسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ «أَنَّهُ شَهِدَ دفْن رجُل فَقَالَ: جَمْهِرُوا قَبْرَه» أَيِ اجْمَعُوا عَلَيْهِ التُّرابَ جمعا، ولا تطيّنوه ولا تسوّوه. والجُمْهُور أَيْضًا: الرَّمْلَةُ الْمُجْتَمِعَةُ الْمُشْرِفَةُ عَلَى مَا حَوْلها.
