(تَوْرٌ) التَّاءُ وَالْوَاوُ وَالرَّاءُ لَيْسَ أَصْلًا يُعْمَلُ عَلَيْهِ. أَمَّا الْخَلِيلُ فَذَكَرَ فِي بِنَائِهِ مَا لَيْسَ مِنْ أَصْلِهِ، وَهُوَ اسْتَوْأَرَتِ الْوَحْشُ. وَهَذَا مَذْكُورٌ فِي بَابِهِ وَذَكَرَ ابْنُ دُرَيْدٍ كَلِمَةً لَوْ أَعْرَضَ عَنْهَا كَانَ أَحْسَنَ. قَالَ التَّوْرُ الرَّسُولُ بَيْنَ الْقَوْمِ، عَرَبِيٌّ صَحِيحٌ. قَالَ:

وَالتَّوْرُ فِيمَا بَيْنَنَا مُعْمَلُ ... يَرْضَى بِهِ الْمُرْسِلُ وَالْمُرْسَلُ

وَيُقَالُ أَنَّ التَّارَةَ أَصْلُهَا وَاوٌ. وَتَفْسِيرُ ذَلِكَ.
