البَغْل: معروفٌ، وأبْغُلٌ وبِغَالٌ، والمَبْغُولاء: البِغَالُ. والتَّبْغِيْلُ مِشْيَةُ الإِبل في سَعَةٍ. وبَغلْتُ: أي بَلَّدْت وأعْيَيت تَبْغِيلاً.

(بَغَلَ) الْبَاءُ وَالْغَيْنُ وَاللَّامُ يَدُلُّ عَلَى قُوَّةٍ فِي الْجِسْمِ. مِنْ ذَلِكَ الْبَغْلُ، قَالَ قَوْمٌ: سُمِّيَ بِذَلِكَ لِقُوَّةِ خَلْقِهِ. وَقَدْ قَالُوا: سُمِّيَ بَغْلًا مِنَ التَّبْغِيلِ، وَهُوَ ضَرْبٌ مِنَ السَّيْرِ. وَالَّذِي نَذْهَبُ إِلَيْهِ أَنَّ التَّبْغِيلَ مُشْتَقٌّ مِنْ سَيْرِ الْبَغْلِ.
