بُصَانٌ اسمُ رَبِيعٍ الآخِرِ في الجاهليّة هكذا حكاه قُطْرُبٌ على شَكْلِ غُرَابٍ قال والجمعُ أبْصِنَةٌ كأَغْرِبةٍ وغِرْبانٍ وأما غيْرُه من اللُّغَويِّين فإنما هو عندهم وَبْصَانٌ على مثالِ سَبُعان ووَبِصانُ على مثالِ شَقِرَانٍ وهو الصحيحُ قال أبو إسحاقَ سُميّ بذلك لِوَبِيصَ السِّلاحِ فيه أي بَرِيقِه
