الغِيار: بالكسر علامةُ أهل الذمة كالزُنَّار للمجوس. الغَيْب: كل ما غاب عنك والغيب في قوله تعالى: {يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْغَيْبِ} [البقرة:3] ما لا يقع تحت الحواسِّ ولا تقتضيه بَداهة العقول، وإنما يعلم بخبر الأنبياء عليهم السلام، وبدفعه يقع على الإنسان اسمُ الإلحاد قاله الراغب.
