الشَّمْرَجَةُ: إساءَةُ الخياطَةِ، وحُسْنُ الحِضانَةِ، ومنه: اسْمُ المُشَمْرَجِ، والتَّخْليطُ في الكلامِ.
والشُّمْرُجُ، كقُنْفُذٍ وزُنْبورٍ: الثَّوْبُ، والجُلُّ الرَّقيقُ النَّسْجِ. وكشِمْراخٍ: المُخَلَّطُ من الكَذِبِ.
والشَّماريجُ: الأَباطيلُ.
