الخِضاب: ما يخضب به أي يلوَّن به وإذا أُطِقَ دلَّ على خضاب اللحية بالنسبة إلى الرَجل، وعلى خضاب اليدين بالنسبة إلى المرأة، ويقال: خَضَبَ شيبه إذا كان بالحنَّاء وإذا كان بغيره قيل: صبغ شعره.
