[أضم] الأَضَمُ: الغضَبُ، ويجمع على أَضَماتٍ. وقد أَضِمَ عليه بالكسر يأضم أضما. وإضم بكسر الهمزة: جبل. قال الراجز يصف نارا :

شبت بأعلى عاندين من إضم

- فِي حَدِيثِ وَفْدِ نَجْرَان «وأَضِمَ عَلَيْهَا مِنْهُ أَخُوهُ كُرْزُ بْنُ عَلْقَمَةَ حَتَّى أَسْلَمَ» يُقالُ أَضِمَ الرَّجُل بِالْكَسْرِ يَأْضَمُ أَضَماً إِذَا أضْمر حِقْداً لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ إِمْضَاءَهُ.
(س) وَمِنْهُ الْحَدِيثُ الْآخَرُ «فَأَضِمُوا عَلَيْهِ» .
(س) وَفِي بَعْضِ الْأَحَادِيثِ ذِكْرُ «إِضَم» ، هُوَ بِكَسْرِ الْهَمْزَةِ وَفَتْحِ الضَّادِ اسْمُ جَبَلٍ وَقِيلَ مَوْضِعٌ.
