And تفاطأ عَنْهُمْ He was defeated, and retreated from them, (

K,) after he had charged, or made an assault or attack, upon them. (

inf. n. of فَطِئَ, and in the O erroneously written فُطَاء,]
i. q. فَطَسٌ [i. e.
A depression and expansion of the bone of the nose; or a spreading of the nose upon the face]; (
