(مَشَرَ) الْمِيمُ وَالشِّينُ وَالرَّاءُ أَصْلٌ صَحِيحٌ يَدُلُّ عَلَى تَشَعُّبٍ فِي شَيْءٍ وَتَفَرُّقٍ. يُقَالُ: الْمَشْرَةُ: شَبِيهُ خُوصَةٍ تَخْرُجُ فِي الْعِضَاهِ أَيَّامَ الْخَرِيفِ لَهَا وَرَقٌ وَأَغْصَانٌ. يُقَالُ: أَمْشَرَتِ الْعِضَاهُ. وَمَشَرَتِ الْأَرْضُ: أَخْرَجَتْ نَبَاتَهَا. وَمَشَّرْتُ الشَّيْءَ. فَرَّقْتُهُ. قَالَ:

فَقُلْتُ أَشِيعَا مَشِّرَا الْقِدْرَ حَوْلَنَا ... وَأَيُّ زَمَانٍ قَدْرُنَا لَمْ تُمَشِّرِ

وَتَمَشَّرَ فُلَانٌ، إِذَا رُئِيَ عَلَيْهِ أَثَرُ الْغِنَى، وَهُوَ عَلَى مَعْنَى التَّشْبِيهِ، كَأَنَّهُ أَوْرَقَ.
