(نَيَمَ) النُّونُ وَالْيَاءُ وَالْمِيمُ ثَلَاثُ كَلِمَاتٍ لَيْسَتْ قِيَاسًا وَاحِدًا.

فَالْأُولَى النِّيمُ، وَهُوَ الْفَرْوُ. وَالثَّانِيَةُ النِّيمُ، وَهُوَ شَجَرٌ. قَالَ سَاعِدَةُ بْنُ جُؤَيَّةَ الْهُذَلِيُّ:

ثُمَّ يَنُوشُ إِذَا آدَ النَّهَارُ لَهُ ... بَعْدَ التَّرَقُّبِ مِنْ نِيمٍ وَمِنْ كَتَمِ

وَالْكَتَمُ: شَجَرٌ أَيْضًا. وَالثَّالِثَةُ النِّيمُ: الدَّرَجُ فِي الرَّمْلِ إِذَا جَرَتْ فِيهِ الرِّيحُ. قَالَ:

حَتَّى انْجَلَى اللَّيْلُ عَنَّا فِي مُلَمَّعَةٍ ... مِثْلِ الْأَدِيمِ لَهَا فِي هَبْوَةٍ نِيمُ.
