مكسع وجمعها مكاسع: علق، مخنث (بربرية 2، 478، 1) مكاسع ريبة، هكذا ينبغي أن نقرأ في المخطوط الآخر (ترجمة 6، 370) (مخنثو السلطان) مولر 49، 5: مرابط خيل البريد، ومكاسع الشيطان المريد.

(كَسَعَ) الْكَافُ وَالسِّينُ وَالْعَيْنُ أَصْلٌ صَحِيحٌ يَدُلُّ عَلَى نَوْعٍ مِنَ الضَّرْبِ. يُقَالُ: كَسَعَهُ، إِذَا ضَرَبَ بِرِجْلِهِ عَلَى مُؤَخَّرِهِ أَوْ بِيَدِهِ. وَيُقَالُ: اتَّبَعَ أَدْبَارَهُمْ يَكْسَعُهُمْ بِسَيْفِهِ. وَكَسَعْتُ الرَّجُلَ بِمَا سَاءَهُ، إِذَا تَكَلَّمْتُ فِي أَثَرِهِ. وَكَسَعْتُ النَّاقَةَ بِغُبْرِهَا، إِذَا تَرَكْتَ بَقِيَّةً مِنَ اللَّبَنِ فِي خِلْفِهَا تُرِيدُ تَعْزِيرَهَا. وَمَعْنَى هَذَا أَنَّهُ يُخَلِّيهَا بَعْدَ أَنْ يُحْلَبَ بَعْضُ لَبَنِهَا وَيُضْرَبُ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى مُؤَخَّرِهَا لِتَمْضِيَ. قَالَ:

لَا تَكْسَعُ الشَّوْلَ بِأَغْبَارِهَا ... إِنَّكَ لَا تَدْرِي مَنِ النَّاتِجُ

وَمِنَ الْبَابِ رَجُلٌ مُكَسَّعٌ بِغُبْرِهِ، إِذَا لَمْ يَتَزَوَّجْ، كَأَنَّ مَاءَهُ قَدْ تَبَقَّى كَمَا تَبَقَّى لَبَنُ الشَّاةِ الْمُكَسَّعَةِ. قَالَ:

وَاللَّهُ لَا يُخْرِجُهَا مِنْ قَعْرِهِ ... إِلَّا فَتًى مُكَسَّعٌ بِغُبْرِهِ

وَالْكُسْعَةُ: الْحَمِيرُ، سُمِّيَتْ لِأَنَّهَا تُضْرَبُ أَبَدًا عَلَى مُؤَخَّرِهَا فِي السَّوْقِ.
