(قَرَتَ) الْقَافُ وَالرَّاءُ وَالتَّاءُ أُصَيْلٌ يَدُلُّ عَلَى قُبْحٍ فِي سَحْنَةٍ. يَقُولُونَ: قَرِتَ وَجْهُ الرَّجُلِ: تَغَيَّرَ مِنْ حُزْنٍ. وَأَصْلُ ذَلِكَ مِنْ قَرَِتَ الدَّمُ، إِذَا يَبِسَ بَيْنَ الْجِلْدِ وَاللَّحْمِ. وَهُوَ دَمٌ قَارِتٌ. وَقَرِتَ الْجِلْدُ، إِذَا ضُرِبَ فَاسْوَدَّ.
