جُمَقْدار: (مركبة من التركية جوماق ومن الفارسية دار): حامل الدبوس. وكان أيام حكم السلاطين المماليك يقف في الاحتفالات قريبا من السلطان إلى يمينه، رافعا يده وهو يحمل بها سلاحاً شبه الدبوس رأسه ضخم مذهب. وكان يحدق بعينيه في عين السلطان، ولم يكن يلتفت عنها إلى شيء آخر، ويظل كذلك حتى ينصرف السلطان من الحفل (مملوك 1، 1: 138).
