بفتح الألف جمع خيّر، وفي اصطلاح أهل السّلوك: الأخيار سبعة رجال من أصل ثلاثمائة وستة وخمسين رجلا من رجال الغيب. كذا في كشف اللغات. كما ورد فيه أيضا شرح لفظ أولياء بأنهم ثلاثمائة شخص. ويقال لهم أيضا الأبرار. وسيجيء أيضا في لفظ الصوفي.
