أسفراج: هليون، ضغبوس، يرموع، وهي كلمة خاصة بلهجة أهل المغرب (المقري 2: 87 وابن البيطار 2: 570) وهو في زاد المسافر لابن الجزار ومعجم فوك ومعجم الكالا: اسبرنج. وواحدته اسبرنجة، وفي معجم الكالا: اسبرنج جبلي. وفي المعجم اللاتيني يراد به نبات آخر لأنه يذكر هذه الكلمة في مادة acantalos و acantos والكلمة اليونانية axanios تعني اقنثه وسنط، واكاسيا.
