هَجِى^َ(n. ac. هَجَأ [ ])
a. Was ravenous.

أَهْجَأَa. Appeased, satisfied (hunger).
b. Paid to (due).
c. Gave to eat to.

a. Stupid; fool; blockhead; duffer.
الْهَاء وَالْجِيم والهمزة

هَجِئ الرجل هَجَأً: التهب جوعه.

وهَجَأَ جوعه هَجْأً وهُجوءاً: سكن وَذهب.

وهَجَأَه الطَّعَام يَهْجَؤُه هَجْأً: ملأَهُ.

وهَجَأَ الطَّعَام: أكله.

وأهْجَأَ الطَّعَام غَرَثِى: قطعه، قَالَ: فَأخْزاهُمُ رَبِّي ودَلَّ علَيهِمُ ... وأطعَمَهُمْ مِنْ مَطْعَمٍ غيرِ مُهجِئِ

وهَجَأَ الْإِبِل وَالْغنم، وأهْجَأها: كفَّها لترعى.

وتَهَجَّأْتُ الْحَرْف: تَهَجَّيْتُه.
