كَلْثَبٌ and كُلَاثِبٌ Contracted [in hand or mind]: avaricious: (K:) dissembling, or using craft, or deceit, in affairs: app. a dial. syn. of كَلْتَبٌ. (TA.) See also كَلْبَثٌ.

: (الكَلْثَبُ) ، بالثّاءِ المُثَلَّثَة، (كَجَعْفَرٍ، وعُلابِطٍ) : أَهمله الجَوْهَرِيُّ، وصاحبُ اللِّسَان، والصّاغانيّ، وَهُوَ (المُنْقَبِضُ، البَخِيلُ) ، المُدَاهِنُ فِي الأُمُورِ، وكأَنَّه لُغَةٌ فِي الّذِي قبلَهُ.
