(صَنْبَرَ)
(هـ) فِيهِ «أَنَّ قُرَيْشاً كَانُوا يَقُولون: إنَّ مُحَمَّدا صُنْبُور» أَيْ أبْتَرُ، لاَ عَقِبَ لَهُ . وأصلُ الصُّنْبُور: سَعَفة تنبُت فِي جِذْعِ النَّخلةِ لاَ فِي الأرضِ. وقيل هي النَّخْلَة المُنْفَرِدة التي يدقّ أسفلها. وأرادوا أَنَّهُ إِذَا قُلِع انقَطع ذِكْرُه، كَمَا يَذْهَبُ أثَرُ الصُّنْبُور، لِأَنَّهُ لَا عَقِبَ لَهُ.
(س) وَفِيهِ «أَنَّ رجُلا وقَفَ عَلَى ابْنِ الزُّبير حِينَ صُلِبَ فَقَالَ: قَدْ كُنْت تجمَعُ بَيْنَ قُطْرَى اللَّيْلَةِ الصِّنَّبْرَة قَائِمًا» أَيِ اللَّيْلَةِ الشَّديدَة البرْد.
