القَمِيص: ما يلبس على الجلد وهو الدِرع وقد فُرِّقَ بينهما بأن شَقّ الدرع إلى الصدر وشَقّ القميص إلى المنكب قاله القهستاني، وفي جنائز البحر: والقميصُ من المنكب إلى القدم بلا دخاريص، لأنها تفعل في قميص الحي ولا جيب ولا كُمّيْن ولا يُكفّ أطراف، والدخريص: الشقُّ الذي يفعل في قميص الحي ليتّسع في المشي، والجيبُ: "الشقُّ النازل على الصدر".
