السبب: لشيوع الكلمة على ألسنة العامة.
المعنى: سَبَق العلم به

الصواب والرتبة: -هذا خبر بائت [فصيحة]
التعليق: جاء في اللسان «بيت»: والبائت الغابّ. وفي حرف الغين فسر الغابّ بالذي يبيت ليلة فسد أو لم يفسد «غبب». وعليه يصح وصف الخبر بأنه بائت إذا مضى عليه وقت حتى عُرف.
