التعادل: التساوي بين الشيئين، ومنه قسمة التعديل وهي قسمة الشيء باعتبار القيمة والمنفعة لا باعتبار العدل، فيجوز كون الجزء الأقل يعادل الأعظم في قيمته ومنفعته. وتعديل الشاهد نسبته إلى العدالة ووصفه بها.
